The second lockdown in my country made me feel absolutely miserable. I’m not a fan of home workouts and my motivation was on the lowest. I started eating more processed foods, I didn’t cook healthy meals, and I was eating waaay too much junk food. Of course, there’s nothing wrong with having a bag of chips or a slice of cake every once in a while. Nonetheless, moderation is the key, and during that lockdown, I lost that key.
I really missed the gym, and I couldn’t be happier when I heard that they’re opening again. I’ve decided that it’s high time I cut the bad food choices from my daily menu. I started writing down healthy recipes I thought would turn out pretty well. The list got pretty long, to be honest with you.
The healthy dessert recipe for the low-calorie cake I’m about to present to you was the first one on the list. It’s super filling (like really really filling), and it has less than 250 calories. The portion is absolutely enough to keep you full for a few hours, and it’s a great breakfast or snack idea.
In the following lines, you’ll find detailed information on how to prepare the low-calorie cake. I promise you that you won’t need any fancy or expensive ingredients. Additionally, it won’t take you more than ten minutes to prepare it and 10-15 minutes to bake it.
Healthy Dessert Recipe: Low-Calorie Cake
Ingredients
- 1/2 banana
- 1 egg
- 1tbsp cottage cheese
- 1tbsp coconut flour
- 1tbsp low-fat yogurt
- 1tsp baking powder
- 1tsp cinnamon powder
How to make your low-calorie cake
- The first thing you want to do is mash your banana. If you have a sweet tooth, you may add the whole banana.
- Then add the egg, the cottage cheese, the coconut flour, the low-fat yogurt, the baking powder, and the cinnamon.
- Mix everything together.
- Put a little bit of coconut oil (or any other oil you prefer; you can even use butter if you wish) on your fingers and spread it evenly on a ceramic baking pan.
- Lastly, put the mixture into the baking pan and bake in a preheated oven at 180-200°C for about 10-15 minutes.
I recommend you check the cake after it gets that golden color on top. To find out whether or not your low-calorie cake is ready, simply stick a toothpick into the dessert. If it comes out dry, take it out of the oven.
I had my low-calorie cake with some yogurt on the side. This combination is the bomb, I promise you!
